The Episode

With the federal investigation closing in, Tariq is scrambling to get ahead of information that could bring everything down. The feds are setting their sights on a new target. And Monet is doing what she has always done in crisis: making moves that nobody else can see yet.

This is the penultimate episode of Season 3 and the show is in full setup mode for the finale. Every storyline is being positioned for its final payoff. And Monet's arc this season, the grief, the mission, the power consolidation, is coming to a point.

What Monet Is Wearing

Head to toe Gucci in this episode and I am obsessed. The Gucci Love Parade collection pieces are so perfect for this moment in Monet's story. They are luxurious and slightly playful, which gives us a glimpse of a side of Monet we rarely get to see. Even in the middle of crisis and grief she dresses like a woman who knows her worth. Because she does.

The Gift

What I love about this title in relation to Monet is that it forces you to think about what she has given to the people around her across this entire season. She has given information, protection, strategy, and grief. She has given her children a mother who never stopped fighting for them even when they did not deserve it. Whether any of it lands the way she intended is what the finale will answer.

Mary is magnetic in this episode. The quiet scenes hit just as hard as the dramatic ones. This is acting at the highest possible level.
