Monet Tejada in 'The Devil's Playground’ Power Book II: Ghost Season 4 Episode 6
Show: Power Book II: Ghost | Season 4, Episode 6 | Network: Starz | Aired: September 6, 2024
We are BACK! After the mid-season break that had me absolutely losing my mind, Power Book II: Ghost returned on September 6, 2024 and opened the second half of the final season with an episode that reminded me exactly why this show is so addictive. The Devil's Playground is everywhere this episode. In the home, in the streets, in the relationships. There is no safe ground.

Carter Is Out of Control
Detective Carter shows up at the Tejada home AGAIN with his task force and this time he is demanding his cut from the warehouse robbery. He is bleeding the Tejada operation dry and he knows there is nothing they can do about it because he holds all the leverage. He questions Monet about where the drugs came from and who her supplier is.
Monet tells him the drugs belonged to a Russian. She is buying time and deflecting. But Carter is smart. He knows she is playing a game and he is patient enough to wait her out.
Monet Tries to Warn Cane
In one of the most frustrating scenes of the episode Monet goes to Cane to warn him that Carter's investigation will eventually lead to Noma. She is trying to protect him. She is trying to protect all of them. And Cane basically tells her that she is just mad because Noma retired her. He is not listening. He does not want to hear it.
That scene broke my heart a little. Monet is doing what she has always done, seeing the threat before everyone else, trying to move the pieces to protect her family. And her own son is dismissing her. Mary plays Monet's frustration and grief in that moment without letting it spill over. She keeps it contained. She always does. But you can see it.
Diana's Impossible Position
Felicia, Carter's corrupt partner, finds Diana instead of Monet and pushes Carter's deadly assignment onto the youngest Tejada. Diana is pregnant and being asked to commit murder or watch her family suffer the consequences. It is one of the most cruel and calculated moves of the season and it puts Monet in the position of having to watch her daughter be weaponized against their entire family.
The Devil's Playground has no exits. And Monet Tejada is in the middle of it.
