Monet Tejada in 'Gettin' These Ends’ Power Book II: Ghost Season 2 Episode 4
Show: Power Book II: Ghost | Season 2, Episode 4 | Network: Starz | Aired: December 12, 2021
At the end of the day in this world it is always about getting these ends. Keeping the money flowing, keeping the operation running, keeping everyone fed and protected. And nobody has been doing that longer or more effectively than Monet Tejada. But Season 2 is testing her in ways Season 1 never did.

The Episode
Episode 4 is where we see Monet make one of the most controversial decisions of the season: she trusts Cane again. After everything Cane did in Season 1, after all the chaos he caused and all the damage he inflicted on the family and the business, Monet decides that he is still her best soldier and she needs him back.
Her kids, Dru and Diana, are questioning her moves. They see what she is doing and they do not understand it. But Monet sees the board differently from everyone else. She always has. She is making a calculated bet that Cane's loyalty, properly managed, is worth more than the risk.
What Monet Was Wearing
Coat: Hooded Cape Coat with Belt - Louis Vuitton @louisvuitton
Earrings: Sister Love @sisterlovemjb - Ram-Ram’s
The Mecca Question Deepens
The Mecca situation continues to develop in this episode and the show creator Courtney Kemp confirmed that there is a lot more to the Monet and Mecca backstory than we have seen yet. Every scene between Mary and Daniel Sunjata crackles with history and unspoken things. It is some of the most compelling acting in the entire season.
Monet on the Chessboard
This episode is a reminder of something the show established in Season 1: Monet is always the queen on the chessboard. And the queen moves in ways the other pieces cannot always follow. Trusting Cane looks like weakness from the outside. From Monet's vantage point it is strategy. Whether she is right is something Season 2 will answer in the most dramatic way possible.
I love this show for exactly this reason. It never lets Monet be simple. And Mary never plays her as anything less than fully complex.
