The Land of Opportunity. America has always sold itself as a place where anyone can build anything if they work hard enough. In Monet Tejada's world that promise is real but the price tag is steep. She has built an empire from nothing. But everything she has built has come at a cost that most people will never fully understand.
The Episode
Episode 4 takes the show somewhere new when a business deal sends Tariq, Brayden, and Effie to Milan. The expansion of the operation into international territory is both exciting and alarming and Monet is watching it all with her characteristic wariness. More territory means more opportunity. It also means more ways for things to go wrong.
Back home Monet is continuing to dig deeper into Zeke's murder with the new information Davis has provided. She is getting closer to answers and the anticipation of what those answers will mean is building throughout this episode. You can feel the season moving toward something inevitable.

Monet's Opportunity
The title applies to Monet in a specific way in this episode. She is identifying opportunities within the chaos of this season to reestablish and strengthen her position. Even while grieving, even while being investigated by the feds, even while managing a fractured family, she is always looking for the angle. That is who she is. That is who she has always been.
Mary plays this combination of grief and strategic opportunism in a way that never feels contradictory. Because for Monet those things have always coexisted. Survival has never waited for grief to finish. And Mary understands that about this character completely.
A Building Season
Season 3 by Episode 4 has established a pace and a tone that is different from the previous two seasons. It is slower burning, more methodical, and building toward something enormous. The show is laying groundwork and Mary is right there in the center of it all making every episode essential viewing.
