Monet Tejada in 'Sacrifice’ Power Book II: Ghost Season 3 Episode 8
Show: Power Book II: Ghost | Season 3, Episode 8 | Network: Starz | Aired: May 5, 2023
Sacrifice. Everything Monet Tejada has ever done has required sacrifice. Her freedom. Her honesty. Her relationships. Her children's innocence. She has given up piece after piece of herself to hold this empire together and to protect the people she loves. And Season 3 Episode 8 is where the cost of all those sacrifices starts to become undeniable.
The Episode
The feds are doubling down and setting their sights on a new target to aid their investigation. Tariq is scrambling to stay ahead of information that could take down the whole organization. And Monet is navigating all of it while continuing her pursuit of the truth about Zeke.
This is also a politically charged episode as Tate prepares to face his opponent and Harper keeps digging. The show is building toward its finale stretch and you can feel the pressure mounting in every scene.
What Monet Was Wearing
This is one of the most visually stunning episodes for Monet's wardrobe. The Versace Fendace Patchwork Denim Blazer is one of the most talked about pieces in the entire series. For those who don't know, Fendace is a historic collaboration between Versace and Fendi, two of the most iconic fashion houses in the world. Putting Monet in that piece is a statement. She is not just wearing fashion. She is wearing the meeting of two dynasties. Which is exactly what she is.
The Balmain top and Louis Vuitton Cruise pieces complete an outfit that is bold, intentional, and completely Monet. Every item she wears is a decision. And those decisions always tell a story.

The Performance
Sacrifice is one of Mary's best episodes of Season 3. She is carrying an enormous amount of story weight in this episode and she does it without making any of it feel heavy. The restraint she shows while playing a woman who is being squeezed from every direction is remarkable. Monet does not crack. She sacrifices. Over and over. And Mary makes you feel every single one.
